Dear Little –
A few weeks ago, you coined the word “Boo-Boo Hat”. You didn’t have the word “Band-Aid” in your vocabulary, but wanted to express that you wanted to cover a cut on your finger with something. Something specific. Something, like a hat for your boo-boo. And thus, Boo-Boo-Hat was added to the Lexicon.
I confident that’s how the Germans created an entire language.
(My favorite German words are the most literal ones, like “thimble”, which literally translates to Finger-Hat or Fingerhut.)
Anyway, we went to the Children’s Museum today – one of your favorite places. While we were waiting for the train, I noticed you were shoving everything into your mouth. You haven’t done that since your last teeth came in months ago…
….. Uh Oh.
“Ace? Are you ok?”
“Mommy. Boo-boo. Mouth.”
“Do you have a tooth coming in?”
*You grabbed my hand, put it in your mouth and bit really hard to demonstrate where the tooth was coming in.*
I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one swearing and bleeding on the Orange line this morning. It is the Orange line after all.
I am now sporting a Hello Kitty Boo-Boo Hat, because of course we don’t have normal ones kicking around and you are sucking on a teething ring.
So, yes. Yes you are teething again. Sorry kiddo, it will get better. More ice cream for both of us!
